2.3. Summary
The previous chapter was concerned with some of the various definitions of Web 2.0, stating the most comprehensive ones, with a focus on the term’s history. Special emphasis was thereupon put on Tim O’Reilly’s demarcation of Web 2.0, who, like other specialists, came to the conclusion that no single and commonly effective definition can be given.
Furthermore the most commonly defined Web 2.0 tools were described in detail, such as Wiki, Blog, Social community and networks, Podcast, Newsfeed, Tagging, Mash-up and Social Bookmarking, by means of practical examples and their field of application in the customer retention processes.
Hence, the following research questions were answered in this chapter:
What is Web 2.0?
Which Web 2.0 tools are known and how are they defined?
